As our annual IBS Sales League Table draws closer and the work gets under way to compile, verify and analyse the data, a number of trends emerge (which we divulge in detail in the March issue of the Journal). What stands out immediately is the lower numbers of new-name wins: both international and regional core software vendors have netted less business in 2011 (with very few exceptions), even compared to the previous year, which also demonstrated depressed results.

The trading and risk business of Thomson Reuters, now in the hands of Vista Equity Partners, is up and running as Turaz. Centred on the Kondor business, the buy-out has created a company of around 1000 staff. It launches with a new version of Kondor and plans for additional acquisitions.
