Long beset by manual processes, the funds sector has taken a number of steps forward in the last few years. Under pressure, there has been a new focus on cost efficiency and risk reduction. Nevertheless, there is still some way to go before all participants are fully automated and, in the meantime, this is an area for a lot of new regulation, on a local, regional and international level.
