Alpha Bank to buy its domestic rival, Emporiki Bank

Greece-based Alpha Bank is to acquire its domestic competitor Emporiki Bank after Crédit Agricole, Emporiki's holding company, has agreed to sell it for just 1 Euro. Alpha Bank is a long-standing user of Oracle FSS's Flexcube (for international operations) and a Unisys-hosted domestic core solution, while Emporiki runs the IBM-based Siglo (Accenture backed system).
