Mark LooiFRSGlobal, the regulatory reporting and risk management software vendor, has grown its sales presence in the UK and in Asia Pacific with the hiring of Tim Connolly as sales manager in the UK and Mark Looi (left) as regional sales director for South East Asia. Looi, who will be based in Singapore, has worked for IBM, Fermat, Computer Associates and Compuware over a 13 year career. Connolly worked for Sybase for ten years, as well as at New Era of Networks, before joining FRSGlobal. FRSGlobal has also just opened a new office in Shanghai.

Torsten Schulz has moved from Temenos to ERI. At Temenos, he was most recently heading the pre-sales teams in Central and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. Schulz's experience is mostly in private banking, having worked for UBS in Geneva, Lloyds Bank International Banking, SBC Warburg and K&M Capital and Finance. Schulz first joined Temenos in 1999, although he spent 2003 to 2005 working for Sofgen, the core banking consultancy firm.


George Sherman, currently CTO for Morgan Stanley's global banking and markets and global commercial banking businesses, is to join Bank of America in September. Sherman has worked for Morgan Stanley for ten years, where he was most recently MD and CTO of the Americas enterprise infrastructure organisation. Prior to that, he worked in technology for Chase Bank. The announcement of Sherman's move follows a few months after Michael Dubno, former CTO of Goldman Sachs, moved to Bank of America as head of global markets and research technology (IBS, February 2010, On The Move).


Techee Cheung has moved to Simcorp from DST Global Solutions. Cheung had been at the latter since 2002, when he joined as sales manager in North Asia. He then progressed to head of sales and account management in Hong Kong, via the post of customer relationship manager in Greater China. At Simcorp, Cheung will be regional sales manager for Asia.


Meanwhile, DST Global has recently promoted Tony Armour as MD of the firm's business process solutions division. Armour first joined the firm two years ago as global sales director. He previously worked at Bearingpoint, where he was UK sales director.


Bravura Solutions, the wealth management software vendor, has appointed Andrew Belger as sales director for Asia Pacific. Belger moves from HP Software, where he was director of information management solutions for the same region. Belger has previously worked for IBM Australia and Mercury Interactive Australia. He will be based in Sydney: the firm's CEO for EMEA, Tony Klim, suggested recently that Bravura will see a recovery in Australia (IBS, May 2010, Bravura buys MFT to extend transfer agency base).


Richard Davies has been appointed director of Asia Pacific for Logica's global financial products business. Davies was previously working for Logica in London, as director of global payments. He focused on the EMEA region. Prior to joining Logica, Davies worked at MPCT, American Express and Thomas Cook Group. Logica's customers in Asia Pacific include Standard Chartered, the Central Bank of the Philippines and National Australia Bank.


Stephen Wilson has been appointed CFO of Misys, to replace James Gelly who has been in the job since early 2009 (IBS, February 2009, On The Move). Wilson moves from the post of VP of group finance, responsible for IR, corporate development, tax, treasury and internal audit. Wilson joined Misys in 2009 from IBM, where he worked for 25 years. Gelly returns to ValueAct Capital, which holds a stake in Misys.


FIS has chosen Brad Potter as SVP of its EFT (electronic funds transfer) solutions division. Potter will also be responsible for the vendor's prepaid and debit businesses. Potter moves from Visa, where he was latterly GM of the firm's debit processing service. Before working for Visa, he worked for Deluxe Data Systems for ten years.


Kristin Waeterloos has become marketing director of Sopra Group for all lines of business and countries. This includes responsibility for Evolan, the French vendor's lending software. Waeterloos moves from Callataÿ & Wouters (C&W), where she held a similar brief. She joined C&W from SAP in 2007, around the same time the two vendors formed a partnership (IBS, October 2007, C&W to bundle SAP components with Thaler). She spent 16 years at SAP, where she finished as senior marketing director for banking in EMEA.


Patrick Thornton-SmithPatrick Thornton-Smith (right) has left Ffastfill, a services provider to the derivatives space. Thornton-Smith was MD at the firm for three years following its acquisition of Exchange Systems Limited, which Thornton-Smith joined as part of. No replacement has been announced yet.
