Since the deployment of Jack Henry's flagship Silverlake core banking system in 2010, New York-based Community Bank has 'not missed a beat'. It has recently acquired branches from HSBC and First Niagara, gone live with a new cheque clearing system, kicked off the teller capture implementation, and launched a three-year technology plan with several projects on the horizon. IBS talks to the bank's chief technology officer.

Panama-based Global Bank has started the implementation of Financial Software Systems' (FSS) Spectrum for its wealth management activities, which will replace the IPBS solution from International Private Banking Systems. The bank also plans to broaden its contract with FSS for the implementation of Spectrum for treasury.

Illinois-based Busey Bank, with assets of $3.5 billion, is adjusting to its new core solution, Nupoint, provided by Computer Services, Inc. (CSI). According to Busey Bank's CIO, two months into the go-live the bank is beginning to see the full advantages of the new system.

BBVA’s US-based subsidiary, BBVA Compass, is about to start the pilot phase of its virtual personal assistant (VPA), Lola. The full roll-out is scheduled to kick off in the US by Q1 2013, while the bank is also developing a Spanish-speaking version.
